REVIEW and HAUL: Ideal home show at Christmas 2013

I’m kinda making going to the ideal home show at Christmas a personal tradition as I went last year. I prefer to go on my own because it is CRAZY busy and I can walk round all of it in just under two hours! When I first went I was literally blown away by how magical everything looked, being greeted by hugeeeee Christmas trees when you go in, it’s beautiful! As I went last year I kinda knew what I was in for but i had a lovely time all the same.

You can get great bargains from all the different booths, I have four favourites and luckily for me they were in the same place as last year so I knew where they were.
There’s one super cheap booth that sells all the shabby chic kinda stuff – my idea of heaven! (i can’t remember the name sorry but you’d definitely find it if you went it’s a pretty big booth)
One right opposite that has the most beautiful unique ornaments. I got the cutest baby blue wooden bear for my new baby cousin.
Sass&belle is also a favourite! Full of shabby chic but more money than the previously mentioned booth.
Upstairs is a booth with the cutest handmade Christmas decorations at 3 for £2 that I brought stuff from last year and today.

A new favourite from this year is that yankee candle were there with discounted prices!! i am so gutted i ran out of money so couldn’t get a large jar of merry marshmallows as it was only £15 but i am happy with what I’ve got and i have a little sample of merry marshmallows anyways 🙂

There’s a lot of people huffing and puffing cause it’s so busy and its a bit of a task to walk through because of the sheer amount of people but it’s a lovely day out!

As you can see above, some pictures i took of the day! I got to see Ed Baines do a cooking demo which was amazing for me as I am obsessed with cooking shows and have seen him on the tv so that was cool. Also saw Laurence Llewelyn Bowen demonstrate how to dress trees and your dinner table ect and then I randomly saw Amy child’s formally from the only way is Essex! And yes she is as tanned in real life! Basically i spent the whole time looking in awe at all the beautiful decorations, presents, food, drink and bargains to be had!!
Onto what I actually brought…

From top to bottom, left to right:
4 wicker hearts for £3, Glass pieces red heart £3, star candle lantern £3, 6 Christmas decorations £4, four red buckets £4, wooden blue bear £3, China glaze polish in visions of grandeur £5, pile of stuff came in free goody bag that i got with the show guide and lastly touch of silver twice a week brightening shampoo which i actually got in the boots at Waterloo station but i still got it today so whatever! i think that was £3.09 (in case your wondering, but you don;t have blonde hair?! it’s because i used colour b4 to create an ombré affect and as I’ve bleached my hair before it’s a bit brassy so i’m hoping this stuff makes a bit of a difference at least).

It all came to a total of £28.09 which i personally think is pretty good cause if you brought the lanterns, buckets, decorations ect in a normal shop you would pay way more and the china glaze is a ridiculous deal at £5 considering how much they are to buy normally and i have wanted a china glaze polish for sooo long and it’s the most gorgeous ruby red, the picture doesn’t do it justice! it’s a lot more deeper and kinda has a tint of magenta too. I also must add it is completely opaque in one coat and glides on like a dream! such a good formula and perfect for Christmas which is why i got it ’cause you can’t help but feel festive at this place!

Today i also got to meet my new baby cousin! he is the cutest thing i have ever ever ever ever ever ever seen! so today has been rather lovely! If you’ve never been to an ideal home show i really suggest you go, i got my ticket for free with a promo code so always look out for those and it can be a really cheap day out, depending on how much you spend in there haha. – Amy x
