Okay so I have been umming and ahhing over this perfume ever since I got a sample in a glossy box. It has the most gorgeous smell, it doesn’t really have the scent you’d associate with a celebrity fragrance at all. I was just umming and ahhing over the price at £26.09 for a 50ml and £22.60 for a 30ml I thought I would wait until after christmas and put that kind of money towards getting a marc jacobs gift set instead HOWEVER this little beauty is now only £12.99 for the 50ml as it’s a star gift from boots. I think this means it ends Thursday as they used to start each new start gift on friday and the one before would end on the thursday close. Anyway ramble ramble onto the packing, bottle and scent!
I love the packaging it looks classy as katy perry herself is a classy lady! I love the read and the detailing around killer queen it looks super pretty and is also embossed which is a nice touch. It also has own the throne on the back which I think is cute! and is a nice quote to go with a fragrance which I think tries to make you feel like you can take on the world – you are the queen!
The bottle is reminiscent and as the imagery to go with the perfume would suggest the top of the pole?! thing the queen as to hold – I’m sorry I literally have no idea what it’s called but hopefully you know what I mean! as you can probably see the bottle doesn’t stand up but this isn’t a problem as the design has big enough sides for it to not roll around and it looks so pretty on my make-up table! I also love the ruby red colour. The gold top is also really pretty and has cats, hearts a dagger and a music note which is a really nice touch and makes you think nothing has been over looked and perhaps Katy Perry herself may of actually had input into this! as with other celebrity fragrances I am a bit sceptical.
Here’s what boots has to say about it…
Katy Perry is the New Queen in town, but not just any ordinary queen…She is a Killer Queen. Rebellion is on her mind. Defiance on her playful lips. She takes the throne by storm! And smiles with an irreverent wink. Katy doesn’t play by the rules because… Rules are made to be broken. The Bottle is inspired by a Queen’s scepter, the distinct jewel-shaped bottle portrays sexy sophistication and lawless luxury. The cap of the bottle is enhanced with a rich gold crown cap showcasing a custom crest capturing Katy Perry’s playful essence – regal cats, a music clef, and a dagger. The carton is the imperial red carton echoes the royalty of a Killer Queen with a tufted textured pattern reminiscent of a throne framed with a fanciful ermine border.Addictive Floriental Killer Queen is a charmingly playful yet lethally gorgeous Floriental fragrance
Top Notes: Dark Plum, Wild Berry and Bergamot.
Heart Notes: Red Velvet Flower, Rainbow Plumeria and Natural Jasmine Sambac.
Base Notes: Cashmeran, Natural Patchouli Heart and Liquid Praline.
IT’S A SCEPTER, THANKYOU BOOTS!
haha anyway they pretty much have it covered but in terms of the scent in simple terms it’s fruity but has a depth to it, it’s not sickly sweet, there’s some spice in there. I can definitely get the bergamot, wild berry, jasmine and praline. It’s a such a great mix and smells gorgeous. It’s also a eau de parfum instead of a eau de toilette which i was pleasantly surprised at with it being a celebrity perfume. I also go for parfum where I can as it is stronger than an eau de toilette and is said to last much longer.
So i highly recommend you snap this bargain up as the scent is divine and it’s a great mix between sweet and spicy with a lot of depth to it. Not your average celebrity fragrance by a long mile. For £12.99 for a 50ml how can you say no?! my point exactly!
